Kathmandu – Pokhara – Ghandruk – Poon Hill – Pokhara – Chitwan (10 Nights/11 days)
Itinerary:
Day 01: Arrival in Tribhuwan International Airport (TIA), Kathmandu. Meet and greet with your speaking guide at the airport. Transfer to the hotel. Rest time. Overnight in Kathmandu 3*.
Day 02: After breakfast full-day sightseeing tour of the UNESCO world heritage sites, Swayambhunath stupa, and Bhaktapur durbar square. After lunch, visit Pashupatinath temple. Overnight in Kathmandu 3*.
Day 03: After breakfast, transfer to the domestic airport for a flight from Kathmandu to Pokhara(flight time 25 min.) – the tourist capital of Nepal, renowned for its natural beauty and the Annapurna Himalayan range. Meet at the airport with your English-speaking local guide. Transfer to the hotel, and hotel check-in. Short rest. Sightseeing of Pokhara city with boating in Fewalake. Overnight in Pokhara 3*.
Day 04: After breakfast, drive by Jeep(2.5 hrs)from Pokhara to the village of Ghandruk(2012 m.), a sloping settlement with stone houses mostly inhabited by indigenous Gurung people of Nepal. Admire the stunning views of Fishtail, Annapurna South, and Hiunchuli mountains. Get acquainted with the culture and traditions of the local Gurung people. Lunch break in Ghandruk.Start your trek (3 hrs) from Ghandruk to Tadapani(2610m). Short breaks for tea and rest on the way. Overnight in the Tea house in Tadapani.
Day 05: After breakfast, trek (5-6 hrs.) from Tadapani to Dobato(3420 m.). Experience the beaten track of Annapurna sanctuary and explore beautiful Nepali villages, their rich culture, and encounter with variety of flora and fauna on the way. Short breaks for tea and rest.Overnight in the Tea house in Dobato.
Day 06:After breakfast, trek (5-6 hrs.) from Dobato to Ghorepani (2860 m) via Deurali (3090 m). The route steepens as you climb through dense rhododendron forest to Deurali, a small pass, before dropping down to the lodges at Ghorepani. At this point, you’re back on the main Annapurna Circuit route. Ghorepani means “horse water,” and was a popular stopping place for the mule trains that plied the route from Pokhara to Jomsom and beyond to Tibet. Admire the panoramic view of impressive peaks you see across the Kali Gandaki Valley, to the northwest is Dhaulagiri (8167 m) – the seventh highest mountain in the world. Overnight in the Tea house in Ghorepani.
Day 07: Ghorepani – Sunrise at Poon Hill (3210 m) – Trek to Ulleri(2070.) – drive to Pokhara.
It is an absolute must for those who stay at Ghorepani to make the walk (1 hr.) up to the celebrated viewpoint of Poon Hill, which overlooks the village. You’ll wake up at 5 am to head up the well-marked track to the viewpoint. From the hill, you’ll be treated to a phenomenal sight, as the first light of dawn illuminates Dhaulagiri and Tukuche Peak with a surreal pink glow. After sunrise, return to the hotel for breakfast. After breakfast, trek (3 hr.) to Ulleri. From Ulleritake a jeep back to Pokhara. Checking into your hotel. Rest and relax in a charming lakeside town, enjoying the memories of a great trek. Head out in the evening to one of “Lakeside’s” many great restaurants. Overnight in Pokhara.
Day 08: After breakfast, transfer to Pokhara airport for a flight (20 min.) from Pokhara to Chitwan -Chitwan is famous for its national park and wildlife reserve. After arrival, meet your driver at the airport and transfer hotel. Check-in. Rest. Cultural program in the evening. Overnight in Chitwan.
Day 09: full day jungle activities in Chitwan(jungle walk, elephant safari, canoe, elephant breeding center, village tour, etc.). Overnight in Chitwan.
Day 10: After breakfast, Transfer to Chitwan airport for flight (20 min.) to Kathmandu. After arrival in Kathmandu, du meet with your local guide at the airport and head for sightseeing of other UNESCO world heritage sites – Patan Durbar Square and Boudhanath. Overnight in Kathmandu.
Day 11: After breakfast, Free time. Transfer to TIA airport. Departure.
