Visit the city of Bhaktapur – the ancient capital of Nepal.

Excursion to the temple complexes of Pashupatinath and Swayambhunath.

To immerse yourself in the atmosphere and traditions of ancient Nepal, we’ll visit the “museum-city” of Bhaktapur, which still bears the marks of its royal past. Thecity is filled with magnificent pagodas, and the streets are lined with artisan workshops and artist stalls. Interestingly, few people know that the first pagodas were built in Nepal (in the 13th century AD), before spreading across all Asia.

Next, we’ll visit the Pashupatinath Temple Complex – a sacred place where Hindus say farewell to the deceased. Located within the complex is the Pashupatinath Temple, one of the most significant Hindu temples of Lord Shiva in the world.

After lunch, we’ll head to the grand stupa of Swayambhunath, one of the world’s most famous Buddhist religious sites. Swayambhunath is considered the oldest stupa, built around 2,000 years ago on a trade route from India to Tibet. The stupa is adorned with the all-seeing eyes of Buddha on all four sides.

Swayambhunath sits atop a hill with a staircase of 365 steps leading to the summit, offering a panoramic view of Kathmandu city. It is a place of powerful spiritual energy.

Overnight in Kathmandu (4-star hotel).

Day 03: Kathmandu – Nepalgunj

After breakfast, depart to the ancient city of Patan (est. 299 AD), one of the oldest settlements in the Kathmandu Valley. In the past, Kathmandu and Patan were separate kingdoms. At Durbar Square (“Palace Square”), you will see the famous Terracotta Temple of a Thousand Buddhas (12th century), the ancient Krishna Temple (17th century)—the only temple built in the Shikhara style from stone. Also notable are the Taleju Temple (17th century), the Royal Palace (17th century), the Krishna Temple, Hiranya Varna Mahavihar, and Mahabuddha.

You’ll also visit the house-temple of the Living Goddess Kumari, and if you’re lucky, you might see her in person.
